They were then presented with affect-inducing images while brain event-related potentials (ERPs) and startle reflex modulation (SRM) were recorded to determine non-language-based processes. Explicit valence and arousal ratings for each image were taken to determine subjective affective effects. Results indicated no significant group differences for explicit ratings and SRM. However, ERP results demonstrated significant group differences between the ‘pleasant’ and ‘violent’ emotion condition in the frontal, central and parietal areas across both hemispheres. These findings suggest that parts of the brain process affective stimuli different to what conscious appraisal comes up with in participants varying in self-reported aggression.]]> Wed 26 Oct 2022 11:06:51 AEDT ]]> Jointly Modeling Behavioral and EEG Measures of Proactive Control in Task Switching https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50493 Wed 02 Aug 2023 14:53:57 AEST ]]> The potential for new understandings of normal and abnormal cognition by integration of neuroimaging and behavioral data: not an exercise in carrying coals to Newcastle https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:5479 Sat 24 Mar 2018 11:04:12 AEDT ]]> Sonic Influence on Initially Neutral Brands: Using EEG to Unveil the Secrets of Audio Evaluative Conditioning https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54832 Fri 15 Mar 2024 11:52:54 AEDT ]]>
